June 4 SAT I Math Only

whoa chill supermurga...we didn't have dice...but if you explain it from what you rmbr then I might be able to solve it for you.

second to last was the parabola one I think? -4 was what i guessed and got it right :D

hopefully the second section was experimental , the one wit hthe math dice question.

think you could type up the dice question? sounds pretty hard but interesting :)

oh yeah the -4 I got it finally lol I was gonna choose -4 from the beg. but I felt bad not knowing why and then I had 5 min so I figured it out...

I plugged in and made two different equations and both equations had the minimum point at -4 on the graph...so I choose -4 it was A right?

hypernovae what experimental section did you have ?

hmm i'm pretty sure -4 was E

ivy i think I had a different test than you did...
if you had math on section 4, did you have a question with the function 4000/ [ (2x)^2 +1 ]?

oh ok...yeah prolly was and by the way it was this
(x-p)(x-p-4) so plug in differnet numbers for p and graph it on grapher
(x-5)(x-5-4)

and (x-8)(x-8-4)

was dice dealing with permutationsshould be interesting

i found the dice question earlier in the thread

"you role two dice
what's the probability that they share a common factor >1"

hmmm! might take me awhile :P

hypernovae did you have 4 math sections

i'm getting 1/3

i don't know if it's right, but here's what I did

6 sides on each dice, so 6*6 = 36 possible combinations

leave out all the rolls with 1s, because the factor has to be greater than 1

then start listing all the different combinations with common factors

2 2
2 4
2 6
3 3
3 6
4 2
4 4
4 6
6 2
6 3
6 4
6 6

12/36 = 1/3

edit :yeah i did ivy

was it mc or grid in? cuz I have two possible answers....13/36 or 9/22

hypernovae did you have 4 math sections or 4 cr sections or 4 writing?

merudh123 did you have 4 math sections or 4 cr sections or 4 writing?

whoa wait a min. 12/36 my bad that wasn't too hard

woops, i forgot (5,5), duh.

13/36 is my answer ><

when do we find out what the experimental section was ?
merudh123 did you have 4 math sections or 4 cr sections or 4 writing?

hypernovae did you have 4 math sections or 4 cr sections or 4 writing?

ivy i already answered you, 4 math, merudh had the exact same test as me, so he had 4 math also

so i guess the dice one was experimental ? right? it was sec. 2
