Official October SAT Math Discussion

Let's start this off,

Math was kinda tough for me. Is it hard for you guys?

If you took the March one, I thought this one was a lot easier mathwise.

The one question that’s killing me is that cube question…where everyone put 54 and i put 51. It looks like its 54 unfortunately

KBronx17 it is 54.

What did you guys think of the question with the 5% of students. Was is 1600 or 1420? The first answer is right if 80=5% and the second is right if 71=5%. It comes down to the wording of the question. Did 5% of the school miss AT LEAST 1 day? Or did 5% of the school miss 1 day?

1420 was the correct answer.

How does one get 1420?

If 71 of the students were 5%, then you get 1420.

I think it was 1420.

im pretty sure it was 1600 for that.

It wasn’t 71 of the students, it was 80. You count the students not the absences, so there was 90 total absences, but 8 of them were counted once more and 1 of them were counted twice more. 90 - 10 = 80.

1600 here.
Was there both a rest stop and a trail marker, or only a trail marker at the beginning of the trail?

Was that 2:1?

For the question that had I,II, and III, was the third one F(7) > F(9)?

I remember the two other choices which were like F(2) > F(1) and F(5) > F(4).
Does anyone remember specifically what the third one was?

Yeah it was F(7) > F(9). All three were true I think.

Anyone get 5 for the question asking about slope on the parabola?

Yes, it was F(7) > F(9).

The answer was I, II, and III.

This question was a doot

i think it was 1420.

I got 5 for the slope of the parabola. I’m still confused on the answer for the double reflection question. Wasn’t the original point (3,1) or did I misread it?

If there was both a trail marker and a rest stop at the beginning of the trail, then the answer is 2:1.
If there was only a trail marker but no rest stop, then the answer is 8:3.

I think there was both a trail marker and a rest stop at the beginning of the trail.

@ Pitt the answer for that one was (-1, 3)

Oh my gosh… I reflected across the x-axis. Idiotic mistake. Thanks!

The slope was five for parabola question.
(-1,3) for the reflection over y=x

I though was was a lot easier this time around. I took the one back in May.
