June English Thread

^^ Reasoning: At the end of the paragraph, it mentioned Andrew (her owner) leaving…it seemed like the only plausible answer. Who knows…

Indeed, skaggs. I followed your logic as well. It became the last sentence.

I dont remember the sentence but there was something like

blah blah blah blah, who _________________
vs.
blah blah blah blah; who_____________________

Wow…uhh…

The only thing I can tell you is that for the second to be correct, both clauses would have to be able to stand independently…but I’m sure you already know that.

ignore

10char

Wait, does anyone else have any input on the first question? The one where it had the collection of poems (name) and then the quote. I thought it was two commas because the name would be considered nonessential information.

^See #128 and #130…

I had that as well.

The passage about the woman who cooked – the paragraph that was something about how once a girl was cooking for her and she put so much of a spice in that it burned her tongue, “yet she was impressed, the meal was certainly anything from bland”, anyone remember that one? We were supposed decide where it belonged, and I think got stuck between at the end of Paragraph 2 and ‘where it is now’.

I believe I put at the end of paragraph 2?

^ After sitting for a while, I’m pretty sure I ended up putting it there as well. Wasn’t sure though.

Same.

I’m currently trying to rack my brain of any other English questions…

The question about giving a specific example of training was the couch ordeal right?

What was the question that asked how it should be placed so that the adjective modifies one word and not the other? I think I put no change on that one.

@Rock, I know what question you’re talking about… was it something about the camera equipment and ships in the shipwreck one?

^right 19char

^The use of innovative helicopter camera equipment went right after talking about his other innovations…in paragraph five if I remember correctly.

I think he’s talking about the magnetic field one.

I don’t know which one I am talking about lol but on the shipwreck one, did you put that the scientist says it’s one of the first ships found at that depth (last question maybe?)?

^yes, the signficance of the finding was that.

I remember putting that. It was one of those “if all of the following are true, which makes most sense to emphasize _________” questions. It was, like, the historical importance of the finding.
