For those who took the SATs today... did you guys think it was harder than the march or the may SATs? I thought it was relatively easy compared to the March SATs, but what about the May? I thought the math was TOO easy, and the reading was alright (hoping that the squid section was NOT experimental) because I had 4 reading sections and two dual passages, one being the squid, and another being something about privacy and george orwell in the first paragraph. Is it possible to have 2 dual passages? hopefully not. anyways, share your thoughts please.

One last question, i thought the essay was pretty crappy... what examples did you guys use? I used martin luther king... albert einstein ... 1984....
and why was it that I got so many E's for one of the writing sections? It was ridiculous. can anyone tell me if they got a lot of E's in their bubbles for the 25 minute writing section? I'm thinkin about cancelling my score...

yeah i found june SATs a lot easier. math was ridiculous, reading and writing were medium. any other thoughts? did anyone take the MAY sats and this one today? did anyone find it easier?

I now think that the actual number of Es is 5 (I think I overlooked one error among my 6 Es). I'm not sure exactly what else you might have meant by "are you serious." The test did seem easier overall than the May 5 exam.

I took it a few times in high school, but I just started taking the official exam again in my post-high school days this past May 5. I thought it would be a good idea to take the official SAT at least a few times a year so that I experiencing and seeing the test first-hand and I can report back on any trends or patterns (e.g., the type of vocabulary words tested) that I notice on the exam. (The May 5 and June 2 SATs have certainly been somewhat enlightening, and there are a few things I took from them that I can incorporate into my lessons and methods in the future with my students.) It can only help make me that much better an SAT tutor, I believe. I should, by the way, take my own advice about getting plenty of sleep and rest before the exam. Taking the test on 3 hours of sleep just plain sucks!

wow.. Godot, i'm amazed at your determination. i'm sure you're a great SAT tutor. There aren't many out there that would actually do this. if only i had you as my SAT tutor a couple of months ago.. haha. good job and continue with what you do!

I thought the math was really easy, the critical reading was decent, and the writing was okay. I ended up with a disconcerting number of them that I found to have no errors, but I got a 780 last time and didn't really care how I did on writing this time.

As for the essay, I exerted very little effort. I somehow talked about The Great Gatsby? Whatever.

What was your exact Writing MC subscore the last time (the score out of 80)? And how many did you miss total out of 49 on your last SAT?

jadore_isabella,

I agree it was 5 Es. I just can't believe I overlooked one of the errors! Grrr...I am never taking this test on no sleep again! By the way, I'm going to ask you the same questions I asked heyyjude. Have you take the test before? And how did you score on the Writing?

asdfsystema,

Thanks for the props. I do my best as a tutor. There are far too many people out there who call themselves SAT tutors who 1) are simply unqualified, 2) received a little training at some point and are still using almost exactly the same methods and techniques with their students (a top tutor will always be looking to push the envelope and his/her methods should ideally evolve over time as he/she gains more experience and insights), or 3) simply do not care very much about their students or their results. Just as the judges tell some dancers who audition for So You Think You Can Dance (one of my favorite shows on TV right now), they should give their money back to their clients!

Of course, I probably shouldn't talk now since I made an egregious grammatical error/typo in Post #11.

I think it was very easy. The math was easy, I only skipped 3 problems, and I think I got all the problems I did correct - but we will see.

The CR sections were extremely easy, I'm pretty sure all my sentence completions and paragraph questions were correct. Didn't skip any CR questions.

I loved the essay, I felt so confident while writing it, and I was more relaxed during this part of the exam. The sentence correction questions were equally as easy.

I'm hoping to get a 200+ point increase in each section.
