June world history sat II

:D awesome!

Maize was an answer – staple food in South Americas

haha omfg. all the practice books have different freakin answers. i swear i used to put maize in some books, but it'd be potatos. and vice versa in others.

i think i put white potatos...

I was confused too haha

I put maize --;

"Did Mestizos (I think correct), mulattoes (not them), or Creoles ... lead revolutions? "

pretty sure it was mestizos.

"Japan was demilitarized because they didn’t want it to be aggressive in later years..."

... wait it was by the u.s. right? i know the answer was because the u.s. wanted something. i think it was cus the u.s. didnt want japan to be agressive later. ok right im just repeating what yu stated

i put sweet potatoes b/c they originated in S.A. but i was so sure it was something to do w/ potatoes b/c they played a big part in New/Old World interaction.

skipped the Japanes eone

and i still think the damn map was the ummayad empire.

I got that one wrong =/ Isn't it the Byzantine?

no, it def. is the byzantine.

it wasn't sweet potatoes; yams originated in Asia and Africa. I thought it was white potatoes, but maize HAS been an integral part of SA diet. Who knows about this one.

It is the Byzantine Empire. Take a look at this map:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e7/EasternRomanEmpire.png

Unfair, I know. Stupid Spain messing me up.

=] any other questions?

I'm pretty sure it's not mestizos. the social caste was peninsulares, creoles, mestizos/mullatos etc. and our teacher continually stressed to us that creoles were very likely to rebel because being second on the social ladder, they had some rights but were not the most powerful, thus wanting to gain more rights for themselves. but i dunno

anyother questions?

that map shows byzantine and western roman empire. Western roman empire is not considered byzantine empire. It is ummayad.

-_- *******s. i got thrown off by the dates... cus it said 590? or something, and that was around the time of the greatest extent of the ummayad right before it collapsed and the abbasid started. and also, by that time, i didnt think the byzantine was that huge. crap

was the umayyad around in 650 c.e.?

--ll ahh..

around there, a little after

maybe im wrong, but i still think it is umayaad. byzantine empire as i remember was the eastern roman empire.

it is the eastern. ummayads were gone by the 600s, because the abassid golden age was 600-1000. wasnt the map 500 something?

oh man this is frustrating and quite damn irritating
