So I've recently auditioned and gotten into my school's Wind Ensemble, and I'm first chair for my Sophomore year. I didn't think I'd do this well so I was thinking of dropping Wind Ensemble in favor of an AP for my Junior and Senior Years because this would result in a higher GPA(and assuming I'll do well considering it's AP Macro and Micro, I'll likely be valedictorian- my parents would also get disappointed if I'm not valedictorian) but now I'm reconsidering and I really don't know which to go with since I don't plan on Minoring/Majoring in Music in College and I may or may not do something Business related. Any suggestions?

Stick with band. It looks really good when you do it all 4 years. <a href=“Why taking choir kept me from being a Valedictorian: Austin Channell at TEDxColumbus - YouTube”>Why taking choir kept me from being a Valedictorian: Austin Channell at TEDxColumbus - YouTube; this video might be good for you. It’s a TED talk about why choir kept a kid from being valedictorian and what he thought of it

I have played clarinet since 4th grade and I have done it ever since, and i am quitting it senior year. It’s not because I dislike it but because of the nature of the group I’m a part of.

Do band if you enjoy it or don’t if you do not. It’s a much more memorable experience than any AP class.

Thank you both for the advice!
@guineagirl96 that TED talk really put things into perspective for me so thanks!

It’s worth it man
