GPA: UW 3.61

Marching band 4 years - maybe section leader next year, awaiting interviews
Piano 8 years
Trumpet 7 years

Summer internship at start-up company (will be doing lab testing)

Sopho: AP World (3)

Almost all faculty on campus know me, stellar recommendations

LSA and CoE you should get in. Ross is getting really tough but you have a shot. The business school starts soph year so you can always re-apply towards the end of freshman year. This link should explain it a little better:

I would say, once again depending on the difficulty of your high school, safety-match for LSA and CoE. You have a good SAT, great extra curriculars, etc. If you write your essays well I'd say you're in.

LSA=Literature, Science and Arts. It is the "regular" undergrad program that the majority of the student body is in. Regardless of whether or not you apply for Engineering or Ross, a decision will first be made on whether or not you receive admission to LSA>

In terms of applying early, contact your counselor about sending things starting in the first couple weeks of August. Have everything in by the first week of September.

With the new Early Action program in place, it's obviously advantageous of you to apply early. Regardless, you get one application out of the way, so you can focus on others. But do not compromise the quality of any of your applications just to get them done.

If you get deferred from EA, then you will be considered for regular decision. As such, if you retake the SAT and it is not considered during your EA application period, then it will most likely be considered when admissions officers reexamine your credentials and transcript during the RD period.

^I think this is a strong point, maybe emphasize this when you apply.
