<p>I am a high school junior who isn't sure where to apply for college. My freshmen and sophmore year's were very rough for me and I finished with like a 2.5 gpa overall after sophmore year. However, I have seriously turned my high school life academically around. I will be finishing this year with between a 3.3-3.6 GPA for this year. I have done a complete 360. I am an altar server at my church, I do volunteer work for my school and town, and I am a member of three school bands and I am part of the band council. I'm taking SATs on June 7th for the first time. Let's assume I get around an 1800-1950 on them. Please chance me for the following schools. Please reply and I will chance back. I promise. I really need your help. Here's my list:</p>

Monmouth
Marist
Fairfield
Rhodes
Notre Dame (I'm like an 8 time legacy)
Lebanon Valley College

<p>your freshman and sophomore year chances won’t help you, but the fact that you are showing a positive trend in your grades will show admissions officers that you are hardworking and determined to succeed. This is great, and your SATs look pretty good for all those schools. You will have to work hard, write a good essay, and explain your change of heart in your applications, but you have excellent chances. The only one that will be difficult is Notre Dame, because it is getting a lot more selective these days. The legacy thing will help, but try to keep your grades up and continue showing your devotion to extracurricular activities.</p>
<p>I think you have an excellent chance for Michigan if you can keep those grades and GPA up. Though, I have to admit that I have heard that freshman and sophomore year grades are considered and looked at. But, if your junior and senior year show a complete 360 turn-around, I think that that will be a very positive thing for you. :)</p>

<p>Anywho, U of Mich and Notre Dame are gonna be pretty high reaches, but you certainly have a chance. Rutgers will be a high match. Everything else will be matches or safeties.</p>
<p>If you did a complete 360, things would still be pretty rough. No worries, we all have blonde moments.</p>
<p>If you have a strong amount of legacy at Notre Dame, your chances might be better provided that you raise your SAT scores and GPA a little more.</p>
<p>Your turnaround is very radical, which, as a previous poster mentioned, is beneficial, because now you are proving to colleges that you will work hard. If you simply explain in your essay what happened, it is likely that most schools will sympathize.</p>
<p>I don’t know how to put this in more euphemistic terms, but looking at your choice of schools such as Fairfield, Rhodes, Monmouth, and Marist, it makes me wonder if you are interested in more of a party atmosphere. At my high school, many students that apply to or attend these schools are usually the heavy partygoers who aren’t as serious in school. I’ve also heard that Indiana and Michigan are also big party schools, but with smarter students compared to the first group of schools. I am not trying to offend you in any way whatsoever, but I am just wondering if you were interested in a school with a big social scene.</p>
<p>Michigan and Notre Dame are not really possibly. MSU, IU, Rutgers and Rhodes will be tougher as overall gpa may not be high enough for these schools. Better chances at Monmouth, Lebanon Valley and Marist. Not sure on Fairfield. Best of luck!</p>
