Junior Statesmen of America

At first, I was considering setting up a partisan political club, but someone mentioned Junior Statesmen of America. I looked into the program and it looks like something I would really like to set up at my school.

Can anyone with experience with JSA tell me their personal experience with the program and/or the logistics of setting up a chapter at your school?

As a rising senior, do you guys think it is doable for me?

Thanks in advance

Hells yes! We have JSA at my school and I really enjoy it. It's a great way to open up non-partisan political debate. I don't know much about how to start a chapter, but here's the advice from the site: http://www.jsa.org/download/startupguide.pdf

I think it's totally doable, esp. considering it's an election year, so you should be able to recruit members quite easily.

ou think otont of tuoucse not you saunf have.?

^^Huh??????

jsa is the best

all you need is a few members, contacts with other chapters, & chaperones for conferences

some chapters have 4 members and are still considered important

My best friend went to JSA at princeton the summer before senior year.
She then set up a chapter at school.

(She loved it to death)

Thanks everybody.

I'm bumping this up...super tired of reading artofmind's depression threads...all 5 of them!!

I am the one who mentioned it in your thread, and I founded my chapter at my school. Lmk if you have any questions. Just call them, give them your address, they'll send you everything you need. Membership dues are 4 dollars IIRC and you need 8 members, including yourself, to start the club.

My daughter, sophomore in AZ, is at the Princeton JSA right now. Unbelievable how hard they are working. It sounds like a great program. She plans on trying to start a chapter when she returns.

its a good program, theres a chapter at my school, the people hardly do any work but we have great discussions. and convention is always fun too, its like a nerd social gathering!

and yes, i'm tired of artofmind's depressing storeis too.

Thought I would bump this up again,
