Junior Transfer from finance to industrial engineering?

Greetings everyone,

I am transferring to UF for this upcoming term (Spring 2013).

I was accepted as a finance major at the Heavener School.

I am receiving my associates degree in finance this December 2012.

Heres the Dilemma: I do not want to major in finance anymore and would rather major in industrial engineering because of my interests. I majored in Finance as a default major because I was uncertain as to what I wanted and I figured that there is no going wrong with a business degree. Now, I have finally pinpointed my interests.

Basically how do I go about transferring internally to the college of engineering? I only have MAC 2311 (Analytic Geometry and Calculus 1) complete. There is another SIX prereqs that I need to do.

My theory is that I can just enter UF this Spring and take the prereqs, half now and the rest during the summer term. Then in Fall 2013 I would be qualified for an internal transfer.

Any suggestions, first hand experiences, answers would be appreciated!!

Hmmm, definitely meet with an advisor the second you get a chance. They’ll help a lot with this kinda stuff, and look into internships soon since you’re going to be a engineering major

Bump!!!

Bump!!!

Your best option is to stay at the community college and finish your prerequisites and then transfer. The College of Business is not going to allow you to take that many engineering prerequisite courses and go off track for their major.
