junior transfers - feeling any reservations about transferring?

I finally got into a school and then I wasn't so sure that I wanted to leave anymore. Is anyone feeling this - particularly those of you who will be entering the transfer school as a junior? I'm worried that it will be even harder to acclimate as a junior than as a sophomore.

Aren't the majority of transfer students juniors? As for me, I have no reservations because I'm transferring to a UC and almost all UC bound transfer students will enter as juniors.

I am at a state university and have made lots of friends and contacts. I was really starting to warm up to the idea of graduating from this place. The only thing stopping me is the fact that I really want a different experience, academically and socially.

My reasoning is that it will be even easier for me to acclimate as a junior. By now, I'm much more independent and more of a self-starter than I was my freshman year of college. I am much more capable of finding my own way around than I have been in the past.

To be honest, transferring is only a big deal if you make it one. I can assure you that all the pressure I experienced as a sophomore transfer was self-induced. Sure, it takes time to acclimate to an environment, but that is not unique to transferring; everyone needs their time.

Especially for you, meyer1b, given the rigour of UChicago and the less stressful environment, you will have a nice environment in which to acclimate yourself. The semester system is forgiving if you fall a little behind:)

im getting out of community college so it's not like I had a lot to look forward to anyway
