So I’m trying to figure out my schedule for next year here’s a rough outline so far:
APUSH
AP Lit
Calculus Honors
Physics Honors
Spanish 4 Honors
Religion (Honors w/ humanities, its a required class at my school)
Advanced Photo
I’m not sure if I should take Physics Honors or AP Bio… I kinda want to have taken the core sciences by the time I get out of high school but I’ll take AP Bio if it’ll look better to colleges… but AP bio is also one of the easier APs at my school
also Calc is going to be difficult for me so I don’t want to overwhelm myself
In your case, AP Bio might actually look better to colleges since it seems like you don’t have many. Are you sure physics honors is harder than AP Bio? The class itself might be easy, but the AP exam isn’t exactly a walk in the park (if you don’t have a good teacher).
It really depends on what you want to go into. For what it’s worth, physics as a subject is much more valuable in high school since you’ll use it in any STEM career you go into (if you do it right… don’t plug and chug).
You’re right: colleges like to see one each of biology, chemistry, and physics, plus one AP science, over the course of 4 years. However that only applies to very selective colleges (your flagship plus top 50 or so LACs plus top 10 or so regional U’s). If you’re not aiming for one of those, take whatever you want, because your schedule should get the “most rigorous” rating from your GC without AP bio.
