I recently signed up for my classes, and I want to know if my junior year schedule is okay. Here are the classes I signed up for:
AP English Lang
AP Calculus AB
AP Physics 1
AP Environmental Science
US History (I may take US over summer and take AP Music Theory instead)
Chinese III
Engineering III (I can get college credit with this class)
I’m not sure if I should take AP US if I don’t end up taking US over summer. My schedule is already quite tough, so I don’t want to completely kill myself. Would colleges care if one of my core classes isn’t AP considering I’m taking four other APs? I heard AP theory is easy so I’m really hoping I do complete history over summer and take that.
I think AP English and AP Physics will be the hardest. Chinese is going to be super easy and Engineering and APES should be as well.
This year I only took AP Human Geography for my social science class, so I’m worried about the large amount of APs next year. I had a 4.0 both semesters freshman year and a 4.14 last semester. My goal for next year is a 4.4.
Please let me know if this is manageable, and about how many hours each night I’ll have to spend studying and doing homework. Thank you so much!
I’m a junior this year and was in the same boat of taking apush or hush (honors us) and ended up taking hush which is the best decision I have made schedule-wise. All my friends taking apush have loads of homework. granted they will do will and have an ap credit, but it gave me more time to study. I’m taking ap calc as well and it is my hardest class, it’s the first time i’ve had to study for math so much, so the time others are doing apush stuff i’m studying for calc. at my school apush and calc tests seem to overlap, so ask about that for like physics.
I’m taking ap lang this year and honestly it’s a lot of work with my teacher, but it’s easy if you are a natural essay writer.
Ap physics will for sure be you hardest class, I took honors sophomore year and struggled and ultimately decided that we don’t have a good teacher, and would rather not self-study.
Hours per night studying
ap lang: depends on the amount of hw, some nights none, some nights hours. We haven’t had one test this year, we only write essays. really easy if you are good at essays
calc: honestly I don’t study as much as I should and got my first b. takes me like an hour or two for the homework and then I try and study (and I study for like 3 hours at least) but end up giving up bc i don’t understand.
ap physics: no experience other than physics h where i struggled in, so study, hope you have a good teacher
apes: used to be easiest class with everyone passing and getting A’s but now teacher changed and they are struggling to get A’s bc of the amount of busy work nightly and her tests are impossibly. but i haven’t taken it, and i think they are exaggerating
hush: none except to study for quiz/test which is max an hour (have a 99)
chinese 3 should be easy: taking spanish
engineering : no experience, but you said it should be easy, will physics prob will be too
omg didn’t realize this was from last year, sorry, hope your year is going well!
