- I can take one from the first group and one from the second group. Would any of these be better than the others? What should I choose?
I could take the DE classes as AP, but they are the same class except in the AP the teacher gives AP exam practice work.
I will take AP physics as a senior. My school doesn’t offer AP bio or chem.
At the moment I only have 1 AP and 2 Dual Enrollment, is this ok?
Is this a good schedule?
I am also considering film production for the 2nd group of electives.
Yes, it’s a very good schedule.
For the electives, pick whatever you think you’ll like best. Make sure that they’re from two different subject groups. Beware of AP music theory, which is very hard and requires a pretty good level of music practice and theory already.
Would taking dual enrollment instead of AP be bad for college admissions? should I take the classes as AP instead of DE?
DE taken at a college is as valuable as AP. It requires more autonomy, ability to handle a very fast pace. In addition, you can take two levels in a year, or balance your semesters with 2 DE classes one semester, one DE class another semester, instead of 3 APs.
@MYOS1634 The courses are taken at my highscool. I would recieve 8 credits for envirnmental science and 6 for U.S. gov. Is this still better, as it isn’t at a college?
Well, some.colleges would consider AP more valuable but they’re rigorous classes.
@MYOS1634 the classes themselves would be the same as if I took DE, the only difference is I have to take the AP exam, whether i take DE or AP they would be in the same class with the same teacher and the same stufents.
Then DE is fine. Don’t worry about it.
Could you take the course as DE and also take the AP exam? You would not get double credit in college, but some colleges may accept college transfer credit but not AP credit, while other colleges may accept AP credit but not college transfer credit for DE courses taken at a high school campus.
Be aware that if you do take the course as DE (i.e. for college credit), it and the grade you earn will count toward your college GPA for the purpose of applying to professional school (medical or law).
