Here’s my plan for my junior year schedule:
AP Lang
AP Comp Sci Principles/A (still debating)
AP Physics 1
H US History
Spanish
Decathlon
AP Calculus AB
Finance 2
Would this be considered too much for a junior if you add extracurriculars on top of it all? These are the extracurriculars I’m currently planning on continuing/joining:
Academic Decathlon (Co-captain)
Key Club ( Treasurer and EA + community service)
YUCA (local community advocacy group/every other Thursday)
Dance (only on sunday mornings)
Another advocacy group (every Wednesday)
Stick to AP CS principles unless you already have good programming experience. It’ll expose you to the various fields linked to CS and will be easier to handle on top of demanding APs.
Take CS A senior year.
Everythingg else is great.
It’s always difficult to provide responses to questions like these without knowing the person and their history.
How rigorous has your schedule been to date and how well have you coped with it? A majority students would struggle with 4 AP courses, but it looks like a typical schedule for top students with high aspirations.
