Hey,
I was hoping to get some opinions on my Junior Year Schedule and tips on how to do well in some of these classes?
Junior:
AP Calc BC
AP Chem
AP Physics 1
APUSH
AP Lang
AP CS A
Orchestra
World Geography
I am really worried about AP Computer Science A. I have taken a 1 semester Python course in sophomore year but have never worked with Java, which is the focus language of AP CS A. Will my lack of Java skills before the class cause me any problems?
I wouldn’t worry about CS but I would worry about taking 6 APs, especially chem and physics. That’s a really tough schedule. You have courses with very, very heavy workloads here.
Where is your foreign language?
You’re taking too many APs and you’re not taking a foreign language. Unless you already reached level 3 or 4, switch out CS A and take level 3 or 4 in your foreign language.
You may want to switch out APUSH and take us history honors or physics 1 and take Honors Physics.

I took Spanish 3 in sophomore year, but at my old school the progression was Spanish 1, 2, 3, 4/5 (can be taken in one year), AP Spanish, and at the new school it is Spanish 1, 2, 3, AP Spanish. The correct placement for me is Spanish 3 at my new school however they will not allow me to take it because they don’t want to write Spanish 3 on my transcript twice, so they can only put me into AP Spanish which I am not ready for. I really wanted to take Spanish as I have a passion for languages so they are allowing me to take a dual credit course for Spanish 3 over the summer.
