Junior Year Worst Year. Possible recovery in Senior?

Junior year has been quite the battle. Between working two jobs and have difficult course work, my overall gpa has tanked. Freshman and Sophomore were all over 3.0 so I ended the year on honor roll. However, this year, I ended up with a 2.91. I worked hard the last marking period which landed me with a 3.14. But once that was averaged in the previous marking period gpa's, I ended up with a 2.91.

Senior year, I'm going to be 100% focused and in addition, I'm taking college classes at a community college. Is there anyway I can recover from my junior year slip up? Do colleges look at ALL of senior year? Also, I'm considering Georgia State and Clark Atlanta for college.

I think only the first semester of senior year.
Do you still have a 3.0 overall right now? If so you should be ok for GSU. (even if it’s around a 2.9, you may be okay)
(and I think Clark as well…but I’m too lazy to double check) good luck!

Go to college board and make sure your scores and stuff are in range for GSU/CAU

Do they calculate the overall by looking at all years of high school?

Yes, your GPA is cumulative, reflecting all grades in your high school years. If you apply early to colleges they will not see your senior year grades. Any applications that go in before your first semester grades are available will get your transcript without senior grades. Your first semester grades will be sent separately, your second semester grades won’t matter at all for admission, just for confirmation that you’ve kept up the work.

Have you taken your SATs yet?
