juniors ('09)! where do you want to apply?

Top Choices: Brown and Wesleyan
Other Stuff: UM-CP (instate), Bates, Oberlin, Northeastern, and Bennington.

romanigypsyeyes- how can you like Brown and UChicago? No core vs. super core? Crazy stuff.

^^ Lol, yes as weird as it sounds... but I really want to go to Brown for Egyptology (as it is the only one in the nation). But, if not, UChicago has the best NEC program in the country and I really like the campus and the professors and students I met.

Well maybe the core isn't as important to her? Maybe she likes the feel to both schools? I don't know... Personally, I don't have a strong opinion on core. I understand that not having a core allows more freedom in choice, but I also believe in a more general education, and know that I would personally choose a variety of classes.

That said, princessbell, if you were to consider outside of the area, I would suggest Reed as well.

^^ Yeah. If I have a core, that's fine. I'd rather not because I like the freedom of choosing more classes I want but I can see the bright side either way.

Top Choices: Yale, Dartmouth, Amherst

Others: Middlebury, UConn, others

oos for UNC is amazingly tough but i would love to get in there because of the crazzzzzzy inexpensive tuition. okay heres the list.

haha yeah, I have a "preliminary" list too. It's kind of long and still pretty varied (but I'd love to go to just about any of them... okay RPI may be a stretch) but I'm probably just be narrowing it down with minimal changes. I keep feeling like there's a big jump between all the reach schools, and then the would-be safeties if I were in-state and RPI.

Caltech

Harvey Mudd
MIT
Princeton
RPI
Stanford
Swarthmore
Tufts

My list is really going to depend on how my junior year goes and how I do on the SATs.

Dream: Princeton
