Juniors rank your five top colleges

haha MIT and Caltech are both in my top 5 :)

MIT!!!

Harvard

Brown

CalTech

UMass - Amherst

Explaining why I love each of them would take an essay, lol :)

Stanford

MIT

Berkeley

Duke

U Mich

I want to do environmental engineering, but I feel like I wont get in to Stanford, MIT, or Duke. Should I consider any other schools? (I am somewhat new to the whole looking for colleges thing.)

In alphabetical order:

MIT
U Michigan
U Minnesota
U Toronto / U Western Ontario
U Utah

Subject to change.

Brown

Yale

Harvard

Princeton

Cornell

It would take too long to describe why I want to go to these colleges lol :D

You’re all rather ambitious. I’m not aiming for anywhere you’d consider “excellent” but I personally think all these places are pretty great :)

University of Minnesota-Twin Cities (Carlson School of Management)

Saint Cloud State University

University of Wisconsin-La Crosse

University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh

University of Nebraska-Lincoln

Here to show some Caltech love :)

Caltech, awesome astrophysics program, access to JPL

MIT, obviously one of the best science and engineering schools in the world

Cornell, another great science school that I might have a chance at

Rice, possibility of full scholarship if accepted

Purdue, same as Rice

Not too sure about 4th and 5th picks yet

University of Texas

University of Virginia

Clemson University

University of Alabama

Penn State University

My requirements are essentially a large university in the south (Penn State being the exception) with a lot of school spirit and a nice campus and college town, and either a reputation for great academics or guaranteed admission to honors program and scholarships. Every school on my list fits these very well, but these are the top choices as of now.

Omg!!! That school is high up on my list as well!!! hahaha but I havent even visited yet…or have any clue what it’s like…cool.

^ They have a pretty impressive hockey team.

1) Berkeley… sadly a fairly large reach =(
2) Reed
3) UCLA
4) BU
5) toss up between McGill and Lehigh

although northwestern and usc would have to be in here somewhere if i knew my chances at them better

It’s good to see that we CCers aren’t being blinded by prestige.

Northwestern University!!!

Wash U.

Harvard/Princeton

Univ. of Chicago.

U of I (engineering if U of I)

Not that I think I’ll get in, but:
HYPS and Columbia…

Financial Aid is actually my #1 motivation, since the money has always been and will be the most important part of any “application” sort of thing, their policies of financial aid mean that I contribute virtually nothing compared to other schools. Prestige, I’m not going to lie, is a bonus, but if I’m gonna go to Yale for free vs UCLA paid (a typical comparison for a CA student), I’d pick the former (a lot of people would).

And once again, getting in is a whole different matter…

Cambridge University- I’m not actually going to apply, but I would love it if I did apply and get into their Medicine program… but I’ve realized I’m not ready for Cambridge yet (I figure I’ll do this for Grad School) =P

Stanford (pshtt, i wish lol)- if i get in then that’s great, but i’m not going to SCEA this one or set my hopes on it

Brown (much more likely than Stanford in my opinion)- ED, hope i get in! The open curriculum sounds like an amazing opportunity.

WUSTL- pre-med program. :)

Duke University- my brother goes there and he’s been hinting for me to follow him. I’m not too sure on this one though; the gothic spires just don’t really do it for me…

andd if all comes to worse, and i don’t get accepted out- of- state, then it may be UT Honors or Andover/some sort of prep school for me…

UC Berkeley/UCLA/UC San Diego - I want to mainly stay in-state…and UC Berkeley was where my cousin went…

Cornell - thought I would have an Ivy to apply to

University of Pacific - good pharmacy program + if all fails + I know two people there…

I’m not your average CC overachiever…

university of washington (seattle campus)

seattle university

western washington university

x

x

will be applying to more colleges of course, and definitely OOS too… just dont know which ones yet…

Northwestern University (excellent journalism school)

Syracuse University (I loved seeing the campus)

University of California Berkeley

University of Washington (mind you, the Seattle campus)

University of California Santa Barbara

This is nice to know everyone’s.
Most of the “typical CC type” are listing Harvard as one, but I like how it isn’t this way to everyone (just like me, yay).

1)Penn Wharton
2)Columbia
3)Cornell
4)Johns Hopkins
5)dunno. NYU Stern, USC, LSE, Imperial.

Physics Major/Economics Minor (or Major)

1) SUNY Stony Brook
2) University of Illinois- Urbana & Champaign
3) Illinois Institute of Technology
4) University of Leicester
5) University of Chicago
