juniors2010

Class of 2010 at my school is way more competitive than class of '09, those slackers… lol

Here’s what we have to pay for at my school:
Yearbooks
APs (unless you get free/reduced lunch)

Not:
Transcripts

haha CCLurker, ENVIRO SCIENCE. I think that’s probably the easiest AP science offered. It’s a really interesting subject so it’s not like I’ll be bored to tears…I’m SOO looking forward to it. No more stressing about not understanding equilibrium and rate laws haha (in AP chem this year). I would take AP Bio but it’s hard at my school only because the teacher sucks and I …am just not very good at Physics so it’s the only choice left!

Is it really smaller than '09? Wow. I personally don’t know very many ppl applying to Ivy-level schools next year. It’s a pity because we have so many smart kids. 2007 was a really good year for our school. It’s been going downhill ever since. hahahah

Our yearbooks are freakin expensive. It’s something like $60-70ish. I’m just getting one senior year. I’d rather spend $60 on something else.

ours are 100 bucks

Ours are 65, but they are all in color. :)

Our yearbooks are around $80, full color as well.

I’m taking APES, IB Physics, and IB Chemistry next year, my most rigorous science schedule yet haha.

I sure hope it’s less competitive for us next year. Watching the sorts of people that got rejected for 2013 was insane.

I don’t like our graduation year, what about you guys? I really wish I had an 01-09 number just since you can say “oh #” like class of 07 sounds better than class of 10. That’s just my opinion though. I’m sure some people really could care less

2010 looks good on paper, but it’s weird to say…

At my school, '09 has like the highest average GPA in YEARS…I’m so glad I’m not 09; we don’t rank officially, but the school does give GPA deciles and I would hate to be in 09 for that purpose. I never thought 09 would be the “smartest” class since they get in trouble all the time, but I guess you never know… luckily, 2010 at my school is more average (for my school), so it’s all good.

^ Ah, that’s funny, cause 2010 at my school so far has the highest GPA. Maybe it’ll change, but I doubt it.

2010 does look pretty cool if you see it, but I just don’t like saying it outloud. Or you know when people put class of '04 or something I think it looks/sounds better than class of '10.

Does your school post the averga GPA of all the years or did they just tell you that? My school is fairly new and was built in '01 or '02 I think, and I don’t think I’ve heard or seen anywhere on the site about the average GPA of classes.

Yeahhh 2010 definitely looks really cool.

Hm, we dont really emphasize ranks/GPA that much so I have no idea what our average GPA is. I’m pretty sure 2009 is higher though.

The class of 2010 just doesnt seem to be as outstanding. Class of 2007 (I think) was the best we’ve ever had. Students to Stanford, UPenn, Dartmouth…etc. It just seems to be getting worse each year! Hahah.

2010 is the BEST class
after all the ap exams and sat’s i think it will really sink in that we are about to start college apps and decideing where we want to spend the next 4 years of our lives…its hard to believe!!

blupowerade, my school does the average GPA for each class after its junior year and then has a public school profile on the website that has the current information for that year’s seniors. The info goes away after that year as far as I know - or at least it’s not present on the website any more; I’m sure the college counseling office has records. If I’m remembering correctly, the 08 average GPA was like 3.48, I think, and the 09 average GPA is like 3.69. Most years, having a 3.77 or so can still get you into the top 10%…09, not so much.

Hm, my school definitely doesnt have that profile on its website.
I don’t think it’s released to the public?

i can’t wait until summer.

That must suck for the seniors who don’t have that good of a GPA, since everyone can see them on your site then. Our school is pretty small with only 1000 students total so maybe that’s why.

A little over a month til summer over here and I can’t wait. What about you?

Yep, we get out the first couple days of June. But it’s amazing after AP exams…we just watch movies and goof around in my AP classes so school is really fun hahaha :)

So basically, only 3 (?) weeks of hw and torture. AP exams are seriously killing me.

Plus, I get to leave school a week early for Girls State. But then as soon as that ends, I have the SAT II that Saturday. haha hooray.

Girl’s State for what?

Me too! We get out the 3rd week of May and still have to finish our current units and do finals. But the ACT is next week, the first week of May I’m taking the SAT, and then the first week of June I’m taking two SAT II tests.

Have fun at Girls’ State, it sounds like a great experience :D!

My school gets out on June 20-something. The last day is a Monday.

lol

our school gets out june first and i am totally not ready to graduate… i am going to miss school so much! i know its wierd but i have totally considered flunking… im definitely not gonna but i thought about it but i am definitely prepared to go out my senior year with a BANG! lol :)

I keep telling myself that everything will be better after May. But I’m taking the SAT in June… This year was ok though, except APUSH killed my life.
