Just found out today that scores from 8th grade cannot be counted. Caltech got on my son's college list late in the app. season so he didn't research this and we just found out incidentally. He got an 800 on his Physics SAT II in 8th grade and Caltech says they won't count it even though he's taken 7 1/2 semesters of college physics (including upper division), was a physics olympiad semi-finalist twice, and is doing graduate level physics research. All other schools on his list are ok with that 8th grade score. So, if he wants to apply, we'll have to shell out $33 more.

Just a heads up for others that might be in the same position.
