So I need some blind-based schools since I am hella poor.

COLLEGES (Reaches/Matches/Safetys)?
I need help on this.
Please.

So does anyone also know any schools that offer great financial aid? I need a full ride seriously.

I'm not sure what else to include, but this is what I can think of as of now. Thanks for any assistance, and feel free to suggest any schools you want.

again, thank you.

your E.C.s are amazing, if you manage to raise your sat and sat II scores, i think you'll be in great shape...for schools....try colombia, yale, or one of the UCs

oh. well i really dont think my ECs are anything special.
and I am trying my best to raise my sat/sat 2 scores this summer.
Thank you for your opinion!

Because you have extreme financial need and your scores are not currently in top private college range, you're looking for a rare thing, a non top college that meets 100% of need. The UCs may also be a good choice if you want a large school. Ask on the parent's board for specific suggestions.

The EC's aren't "amazing" but they're good.

k, kinda off topic but isnt yi jianlin the guy who just got picked in the nba draft from china? I also think the ucs would be worth looking into

yes he is.
6th draft pick to Bucks
haha
he's cool.

bump.
please?

bumpppppppppppp

10chars

why would you drink the night before the SAT?

That is your weakness, and it will put you out of the running for top schools unless you can increase it substantially. Are you retaking? Try to increase to 2000, and i think you will open up several more options.

yeah seriously..why'd you drink before the SAT? lol
you should definitely retake them and increase your scores at least to 2000 and above, but i think preferably they should be 2100 and above.

well. its easy to understand when my prom night was the day before the sats.
so of course i had to drink hahaha
im sorry about that.
and yeah i will retake to improve my scores
also looking to take the ACT

"**
Major: Political Science
Minor: East Asian Studies**"

Why will you do this if you're poor? If I were you I'd strongly consider a math, science or business major if your income is below $10,000. Since you live in California I think all the UC's are matches save Berkeley and UCLA. They are only matches for top applicants from California. But I'd expect you to get into one of them. IMHO, you need about 2100 for them to be matches and then you look on to private schools that give need-based aid...namely ivies, MIT, Stanford and the like. GL.

hey yijianlian :)

I think you can definitely get into UCSD and the like; UCLA and Berkley are also excellent possibilities for you despite your SATs cuz first off you live in CA and your GPA is good. Your ECs are pretty nice cuz they show consistency and persistence. I think Ivies are a reach but you never know since Ivies seem to sometimes randomly disregard SATs in favor of ECs or "fit" depending on their freshmen class composition.

And btw, if youre really yijianlian just apply to any Div I Basketball school. Im sure Coach K of Duke or Pitino of Louisville would absolutely love to give you an full ride scholarship to play xP

I want to major in Political Science because I want to become a lawyer.
I have a passion for law/politics. It's just fascinating.
And yes, I will try to raise my score as much as possible.

P.S.
Just because I'm asian doesn't mean I have to be a math, science, or business major. Who knows? I might just want to set off one of the biggest scandal in American History one day. x]

To Yaoming:
I admire your greatness, my fellow China man.
And so far, my counselor said
that I will get into UCSD because of ELC.
and she said I have a good chance at UCLA/UCB
but then again, I dont want to stay in California. =/

And if i was really yijianlin, i would be 19 right now, or maybe 22, or 28. Who knows my real age right? Maybe I can be 17 like I am now! x]

bumpppp

10 charts
