Hi everyone!
Let me start off by saying that this is not about me. The following stats are not mine, though I wish they were :). I'm simply asking for chances because I'm curious of what others think of my friend's chances. I think his shots are really good, but I know colleges want more than just good grades and test scores.

White male from public school in NJ
Applied SCEA to Stanford for Engineering

SATs
SAT I (one sitting): 2400
SAT IIs: Math II- 800, US History - 700, Physics - 750
APs: Calc AB/BC - 5, USH - 4, US Gov. - 4, Lit - 5

Grades: really good, as far as I know. (We don't go to the same school)
Top 3 in class of 500. All the teachers adore him so I'm sure he has great recs. too.

Extracurriculars:
Vice President of NHS
District XC runner - devotes a great deal of time to running
Violinist in district orchestra (has been playing since he was 8)
Violinist in school orchestra

Awards:
School awards for grades etc.
NMSF

Summer activities:
summer job at the shore

So, what do you think? Will the perfect SAT score cancel out his "generally" lackluster extra-curriculars?
