just because we haven't received decisions yet does not mean a particular decision has been made, right? and please don't say: just wait until it comes because.yea.

iono because i saw that last year they came randomly across the country and people received different decisions.

the only reason i ask is because my friend in socal received his decision..and i'm in houston and no on in texas seems to have found out.

and does it seem that this year..they're going basically on class rank/gpa than on other categories? because newarker123's rejection makes no sense and everyone else seems to have insane ranks and UWs. that makes me slightly scared because i'm a standardized test whore destroyer..yea.

I think it is essays more than anything. Because frankly I really am not in the same category as most of the people here, top 11%, and 32 ACT with a 28 on the writing, but my essay was different and very well written.

I ended up getting deferred, but it still means I have a shot.

From what I heard when I visited, is as long as you are within a certain range for your test scores, you can get in. Which I took as meaning there isn't much difference in their eyes between someone with a 32 and someone with a 34. So the basis of your evalution comes from essay, rec, and accomplishments. They spend alot of time compliling their questions, so they put alot of emphasis on them.

I don't think GPA/Class rank matter very much. I have a 3.6/top 25% (Our class has over a dozen people tied for valedictorian right now) and a 27 act. I got in, which I guess is testament to how far a good essay can get you.
