@SupplySider how many ap/ib credits does georgia tech let you bring?

@saismom, I think you will always get examples of bright individuals not doing well in college. Not everyone is cut out for Engg. and that shows up in the performance in college. My friend’s son happens to be the opposite of the example you have provided. He had a 2160 but with superior GPA and ECs. He was fortunate that GTech took a chance on him and gave him admission (OOS). On the other hand, his first choice – CMU SCS – sent him a reject. Fast forward a few years, he has one semester to go and he has 3.9+ majoring in CS…and I am sure better than lots of fellow students who had 2300+. He has already landed an offer from Facebook but is more interested in working for a start-up that he has setup with another GTech batchmate.
