Is this a bad GPA?

to get INTO tech....from High school...

3.54-3.57 (tech GPA)

but a high SAT score and maybe GHP.

thank you

It’s on the lower end, but it’s not out of the realm of possibility.

so is it a reach? or is it a “that is ok, once you factor in all the other stuff”?

What are your other stats?

i really don’t want to hijack this thread (but i have the same question and don’t want to create another thread w/ the same question)

but I have a 3.54 GT gpa (taken 11 APs), 2130 SAT, 730 Mth lvl 2, 780 US History. on a purely numbers/test scores side, how do i stand?

That’s an above average SAT and below average GPA. Those cases are very hard to judge.

thnx you banjo for the direct answer.

i was just wondering, at tech does the major/college you choose matter? does a bio major get it easier in math related grades/test scores than an engineering major?

No, major does not matter for freshman admission. There are a few majors (BME, ChBE, and ME) that have higher admission requirements for transfer admissions, though.

booo haha.

thanks banjo for your help. i was just wondering if u could take a look at my tech essay and get back to me today? just an offer haha

I’m probably not the best person to ask for essay advice. Sorry.

no prob thnx

@Bango, yeah, i feel the same way when friends ask me to look over their essays. I feel bad saying no, but there is a reason I am at Tech…lol

hey banjo, the gpa you calculated for me included some classes that were not core…so they could not be considered for the tech gpa…i basically have the same problem as Eaglesforlife…

does that fact that i made it into ghp state level…possibly into the program itself help any?

thank you

If you get into the program itself, that will help. Tech likes GHP students.
