Wow, had I known about this forum a few months ago, this whole college app ordeal would have gone much more smoothly!
I am at a CCC in Torrance, CA (el camino college), and I am happy to say I just got my first acceptance from UCSD. I'm still waiting for UCI and UCLA. I know some people who have heard from UCI already, mostly people from tag/tap type programs. Anyone know the chances of me getting into UCI if I got into UCSD? Is SD more selective than UCI? I know UCLA is more selective than SD and UCI, but this acceptance has kind of made me feel better about the whole thing...
for a while i was getting a little worried T_T
Anyway, thanks in advance and good luck to everyone still waiting!

someone from another thread already answered this question:

Quote from user dhl3
In terms of transfer rate, UCI's rate was 71.1% and UCSD's rate was 66.7%.
So looking purely at the rate, UCSD is just slightly more selective.

yw strongergodzilla :)
UCSD was the very first acceptance I heard from UC, and that got me pretty hyped :)

To tell you the truth, I only applied to UCI as my safety SAFETY school (Safety incase my safety school rejects me) so I really didn't have any intention to go there. Ever since I was offered admission from UCSD a week ago, I no longer care about what UCI has to offer me cuz whether they accept me or not, there is 0% chance that I'll choose to go there because of UCSD.

Good Luck to you with UCLA :)

i wish you and I could trade places. I applied to UCSD as more of my safety school. UCI is much closer to home, and while i want to get out of the house, I have a younger brother i don't want to be to far away from [he will be starting high school as i start my junior year at a UC]. UCLA is my first choice, and UCI my second because of proximity. UCSD is a great school, i just wish it was as close as Irvine :/
