Thank you for your application to Columbia University. We are nearing the end of our application review and will soon notify candidates of our decisions.

The Columbia community is committed to environmental responsibility; in keeping with this commitment, we will provide some admissions decisions only online, not via regular mail. You may request that a copy of your decision letter be mailed to you after you receive it online; further instructions will be available when you check your decision. We plan to post all decisions on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, after 5:00pm (Eastern Time). Please click here to receive your decision.

If you applied online, to view your decision you will need both the PIN and password you created when you submitted your application. Your PIN appears at the top of this e-mail. If you have lost or forgotten your password, click here to receive your password via e-mail.

If you submitted a paper application, a PIN created for you appears at the top of this e-mail. To receive your password, please click on the "Forgot your PIN or Password?" button here. You will then be able to use this PIN and password to check your decision online.

If you would like to withdraw from consideration entirely, please inform us of your decision by replying to this e-mail at ugrad-confirm@columbia.edu. Be sure that your full name and Columbia Application ID appear in the response.

I mean think about this... Columbia saves a LOT of money by mailing only acceptance letters.... MONEY that can be used to provide US with scholarships!

"Some" could mean that those people who did not apply online and don't have access to internet connection. Don't read too much into it otherwise you will freak out.

^ no it's the opposite those who get that email are rejected and those who don't are accepted!!... because they are green, and of course less people to notified by snail mail ... and more people rejected to notified by e-mail(less paper).... anyways i don't think this is true! it's just people speculating.. like always on CC!!
btw those who received that email what is the first letter of your name??? maybe it's by alphabetical order..

i didn't received one... yet! i don't know what to think?? did everybody received one already?? or maybe they gonna send those e-mails during the week... so maybe not today but tomorrow i gonna received one too! who knows?
