^^ totally agree!

post #18: a friend of mine who got a likely letter also received this email -> they sent it to everyone. If you didn't get it, modify your spam filter and check your junk mail box.

I JUST got mine at 4:13, and my last name is towards the end...probably just separated into lists, but the e-mail goes to everyone; which makes sense. GL everyone though! :)

You guys got me scared. When I first read that only the rejectees get it, I was sad :(. Now that I read otherwise, I am happy again :).

I think we are all over analyzing ever little thing over a college acceptance. We are all truly brilliant and regardless of where we go, we will excel. I think we should all just chill out, at least we are able to go to college something that less than 20% of the world can do.

I got a likely letter and I got this email.

There is no correlation between your decision and the email :P

Guys, calm down. My source at the undergrad Admissions office just told me:

"The same e-mail went to all applicants regardless of the decision."

So, there's nothing to read into here. Sit tight for another week, everyone :)

Got this, I'm paranoid as hell and I didn't read nearly as much into this as you guys did...haha.

so where is my e-mail??? i checked everywhere.... or maybe is the opposite those who got an email are admitted!! why not??

um guys. It's just GENERIC! omg...

Um wow, I can't believe some of you thought that you would be rejected based of this email. It even says on there "We plan to post all decisions on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, after 5:00pm (Eastern Time)." So clearly it was sent to everyone.

I applied somewhere else for ED and the same thing happened. Listen: people will end up getting it at different times. A mass email isn't going to reach all recipients at the same exact time. This is no indication of whether you are rejected or accepted. Ok? Ok.

We'll all know next Tuesday... Ah! Good luck everyone.
I clicked on the link in the email to "see admissions decision" and it came up with an error - I assume that's just because the decisions haven't been posted yet, right?

Haha, this was a similar email to the one before Early Decision notifications were out. I was deferred so this email didn't surprise me at all.

Do your emails say this on the bottom?

______ I wish to withdraw my application to Columbia University.

I will instead attend _________________________________
(name of college or university)

@ rubber soul

Yeah, mine said the same thing at the end of the message.

I just checked and I never got this email, not even in my spam or anything...ugh.

I didn't get one either. It really could just be the mass amount of emails so we'll get ours in a day or two. Maybe we're just too paranoid as we're nearing the decision date. Or so I'd like to think.

^i'm happy i'm not alone!! no email!!

If you don't get it by like Tuesday afternoon, i'd just confirm correct e-mail addresses with Columbia, :).

Mine also says that (about withdrawing and attending ____________ ) at the bottom of the email...
