got it too!

Can you get it if you are applying from OOS?

I got it today and I have a 3.9

@pitta101,

That is strange that you got it! But congrats!!!

Here is a quote from UCLA’s website regarding who gets invited to compete for this scholarship:

“Approximately 600 transfer students are invited to compete for the Regents scholarship each year and have, historically, maintained a cumulative 4.0 GPA at their prior colleges”

Perhaps this year they had less than 600 transfer students with a 4.0 GPA and allowed some 3.9’s to compete??

Well actually as of now, I have a 3.6. But with the rest of my classes this semester, I will have a 3.9. As of now, i just have one B, the rest A’s. I have a lot of EC’s though. First generation college student. Am also 16 and transferring in as a junior.

Dude. Fingers crossed that this is rolling and they didn’t just release all of the regents in one day :>

I have 3.9 and didn’t get one time to jump off that bridge.

For freshmen regents means your garunteed admission. Iono how it works for transfers

^transfers aren’t guaranteed admission

@Derek: idk about OOS, but I’m an intercampus tranfer and I got it, don’t know if that says much.

Ugh. I have a 3.9. D: I’m jealous. Congrats!

3.9 here hoping that the regent’s notifications are rolling :/

I also received the email and have a 3.89. However, I had a 4.0 before the Fall 2011 grades came out.

@kreuzberg same :/

Pitta, I wonder if we will automatically not be awarded the scholarship if we apply since we no longer have the 4.0. Hmm…

Yay i got invited toooo!!!
4.0 GPA as an Anthropology Major from Glendale College

nowwww what to say and not say in that essay??

Did any out-of-state people receive the invitation? Or is this just for instate people?

I guess it wasn’t rolling :/

I have a 3.7 and I got it. I had a 4.0 when I submitted the app. lol

do they consider you admission based on whether you applied to the scholarship or not. I got the email but i dont have time to get a letter of recommendation. Will it look bad if i dont apply?

i guess one year transfers wont get it because it sounds like they look at your gpa from before the tau was due :(

OH DERPINITMAN. D< Mannnn…Then that makes more sense…I took 2 classes over the summer and got a 4.0 from those and then a 4.0 from fall. If they only saw the gpa from those 2 classes…yeah. Makes more sense.
