That's good news ; ] I just figured that everyone got an interview.

whoa, that's so weird. but yay since my interview was a month ago! i REALLY want to get into brown (but then again, who doesn't?)

Hi everyone! I'm an international student and I had a phone interview over the weekend. It went pretty well and lasted about 20 minutes. I got the typical "why Brown" questions and the interviewer was very helpful with answering my questions about the school.

I was wondering if anyone had been asked during their interview if they had applied to any other universities or been contacted for an interview from another school.

Have any other international students out there been contacted for an interview?

yep, i'm an international student and i had my interview about two days ago. the alumna that interviewed me was very nice and helpful. i think it went well considering that it was my first interview ever. we talked for about 2 hours. the first hour i answered her questions, and the second one she mine. but at the end she somehow shattered my satisfaction that it went well with something of the kind "i hope you realize that this interview will have a really tiny impact on the decision. i've been interviewing for several years and a lot of the candidates with great interviews get rejected and those with bad interviews get in. An one hour conversation cannot outweigh the significance of 4 years of hard work...bla,bla,bla." So although it went well i try to keep my hopes down and stay realistic. Good luck to everybody!!!

i'm an international student from England, i didn't get contacted for an interview, i had to contact my interviewer to arrange a time, and that was 2 days ago, now i'm meeting her in 2 days. crap! i dunno what to expect, what clothes to wear, i know "be myself" but it's kinda hard when u know this is a university interview!. My Sat scores were realli realli, i mean seriously bad, i dunno why i even bothered to submit them... thats my only worry in applying. any suggestions and ideas???
cheers--

Well, for dress attire I think something casual/formal should be ok- like khaki slacks and a long sleeved iron shirt?? just something comfortable and neat at the same time. With your SAT scores, don't worry...the schools say that for internationals they do weigh the results from the national exams of your country. So any GCSEs, A levels or if you did IB...it will all count. The American exams just give the universities some kind of equal standard by which to compare everyone. I hope this helps and good luck with everything!
Let us know how it goes!

thanks flamingo, where abouts are u from? U know i just realised how much every one wants to go to brown. come to think of it my chances of getting in are real slim. i hate that fact man! it completely sucks. interview tmr, got it all sorted, i'm just gonna be myself and talk to them about what i wanna talk about.

yeah so i just had mine today...he mainly talked about brown the whole time..he didn't really ask many questions tho...kept talking about brown and dissing yale and harvard tho lol...i was kinda bummed i didn't get to ask many questions tho because i had to get to my 3rd block in time..oh well
