I’ve visited tamu. Aggies seem so friendly and I know it is a good, reputable school. I am usually a moderate, but I lean more towards being a liberal in my views. I read so much about tamu being conservative online, so I would like to make sure that I would not be out of place.
There’s no getting around it … it’s a conservative school. But I know lots of kids who are liberals and are fine there.
Well, it’s one of the most conservative universities in the country. Definitely not UT /Austin. Lots of versions and circles of conservatism but still liberals are a small minority. Like, the discussion would be Trump vs’Cruz vs’ Kasich vs’someone else, but few people would be in a Hillary vs. Bernie conversation (except to bash both but not to discuss voting for either one, or defending one against the other).
Yea, I’m aware of ut being more liberal overall. However, it is because of its cutthroat competition that I feel it is not for me lol. I know there are some seemingly liberal organizations (feminism 4 Aggies, reproductive equity, or organizations supporting democratic candidates) I suppose I’d find like minded people in such organizations? And just how strong are the conservative people about their views? (Truly I’m open to all views) are they accepting and open to liberal people and their views?
