Just how crippling can a bad GPA be?

actually jags, even admittance letters are sent in little envelopes.

I actually don't see anyone with a 1300 and a 3.0. It seems like the people with the 3.0s have some very high SAT scores and other very helpful factors.

hmm

"I also have a 3.0 gpa, fairly low SAT's (1930)"

i mean - he didn't break it down, but assuming he's about even, 2/3's of 1930 is 1287 - or about 1300. unless his writing score is a dramatically lower than his math/verbal scores - 1300 is a fairly good estimate.

again, i'm not trying to be mean - its just people are being naive. to be substantially below the average GPA - which 3.0 is, you'd need substantially above the SAT average or an X-factor - likely both...and even a 1510 that the original poster had isn't above the 75%ile at gtown.

btw - i thought i got "bundle" when i got into georgetown 3 years ago, either they changed it recently or it was the bundle they send you separately from the letter - i don't really remember. anyway - it was merely a metaphor.

My apologies, I didn't see that post. Business week says that I'm top 10% for MSB on SATs, so I feel that's substanitally above, and I think my legacy/ multiple A's while stufying at gtown is a bot of an x-factor. Whatever, it's a crap shoot, but I'm not going to not apply to a school that's been my first choice for about a decade.

Yeah 720 in math, 630 in verbal over here

I'm applying with a 3.3UW 3.6W GPA, 2260 SAT, 800/700/780 SATII's
EC's = Political Campaign / Debate

If you don't apply, you TRULY have a ZERO percent chance of getting in.

What's your guy's class rank? 1 person from the 5th decile of their class got into MSB last year.

What else did he/she have going for them?

Their parent must have DONATED A **** load of money because they had below 500 Math SAT score. I swear to God, someone with a BELOW 500 math SAT score and in the 5th decile got into MSB.

were you in session I or session II koolcrud? I was there I
