Just how low can I go?

So, I got in to Princeton via a likely letter and on the thing it says they may rescind their offer if your academic standards drop, what kind of "drop" are we talking about? Because, say we have a 4.0, they don't expect us to maintain a 4.0 do they? SO, just how low can I go? And do 2nd semester grades count for ANYTHING? I mean, do the schools even see them?

The generic standard is C or better through HS career.

For your sake, keep it at a B avg. or above.

Ok, not worried about the average, but what about individual grades? There’s this one class where I’m KILLING myself just to get like a B-…

Getting a likely letter from one of the country’s top colleges is a big deal. I suggest that you keep killing yourself to make sure that you get at least Bs in your classes.

Do colleges even see 2nd semester grades?

Yes colleges see 2nd semester grades…

When colleges send acceptance letters, they say the acceptance is contingent upon the student’s receiving acceptable end of year grades.

I asked a Princeton admission rep that exact question, and was told that they the LL recepient should maintain the same grades as at time of application. I then asked if that meant a 4.0 applicant would not be accepted if they got a single “B”, and they replied that a “B” or two would be OK.

Good luck.
