i just received my university's outstanding academic achievement award for the year and was wondering if i should bother to inform the colleges i am applying to of this information... some of the schools specifically state that they will not accept supplementary materials, but i'm not sure if this would be considered "material" so much as it is new information. also, it being april 28th, will this information even be considered in the process or have decisions probably already been made?

I don't think informing a school of an award is considered supplementary material.

Definitely tell them about your award ASAP. It is not considered supplementary material, but rather updates your accomplishments. Congrats!

i got the same award last night if you go to school where i think you do. the book was a nice touch.

i wrote letters when i got the invitation a few weeks ago. it couldnt hurt, give it a shot.
