We've just returned from four fabulous days at Tulane, visiting our freshman daughter for Family Weekend/Homecoming. The previous week was filled with fun activities for the students, concerts, fireworks, a quad covered in in snow (courtesy of the engineers!) and much more. The weekend included a Town Hall, music, a full-scale carnival, food trucks, tailgating, football, and much more.

The one "takeaway" that I especially want to share is that EVERYTHING Tulane hosts is FIRST-CLASS in every respect! It's clear that months of planning goes into each and every aspect of every event. Every contingency is considered. The student population is diverse and my impression is that all demographic groups feel that they have a "voice." Perhaps this explains why Tulane students are perennially ranked among the "happiest" in the country.

As a parent, I have a strong sense that my daughter (who is 1,100 miles from home) is attending a university where she is far more than just a number, she has easy access to adults who seem to genuinely care about her physical and mental health and well-being.

I'm happy to answer any questions from a parent's perspective that students or other parents may have...:)
