Purpose of carrot lab was to test the effects of evaporation on flexibility (something along those lines).

Carrots on Counter vs Carrots in Fridge - Lower metabolism in fridge (enymes not under optimal settings)

Bacteria + Antibiotics Control Group - Agar with paper dot that has no antibiotics. Btw, most effective was tetracycline.

This test was pretty easy, so I'm guessing the curve won't be too huge, although taking it now tends to offer more leeway than in june.

This test might have been easy for us... but I'm sure there are people that aren't posting (or aren't even aware that we are) that had a problem with a lot of the questions. I know I spoke to some testtakers at my school and they said they think they might not have even passed a 600.

For the starch question. I still say starch because starch is composed of glucose. When your body has no more glucose, it begins to feed off of your fat. If fat had more energy than starch, wouldn't your body feed on fat first and then the starch?

i'm not sure why i put fat, but it does have more calories per gram than does sugars... it has more immediate energy, but the conversion is inefficient... i wasn't sure what they were looking for on that one

it has to be starch. that is the whole point of the adkins diet, to burn off useless energy by not eating carbs...

yep... why the heck would some of us get this thing when we are super hungry that we almost pass out...

i definitely think it's starch. the carbohydrate family provides the most energy storach and utilization.

why would we eat a potato? it's a sugar source.

No, I saw a question just like that in my friends kaplan. I wanted to pick starch but I remembered what the question said verbatim.

Which of the following foods contains the greatest amount of energy per gram?
A)sugar
B)starch
c)fat
d)proteins
e)vitamins

Surely, when I looked in the back of the book the answer was C.

I think the question was more along the lines of... Which of the following contains the most immediate energy? and the answer would be a carbohydrate

amnesia do you remember the numbers 9,4,4,4,4,4,4,4,4,,4,4,4,4,4,4,4,4 ....well i know fat is the only one that can produce 9 calories of energy per gram

Nevertheless, I still think Adipose has the most amount of energy; it's fat, and is stored as a resovoir for ATP (energy).

im pretty sure the answer for that was fat, since i have kaplans prep book and the barron's prep book and that question was in both of them... and the answer to both was fat

All cells have plasma membranes
Eukaryotes have mitochondria, prokaryotes dont
Agglutination is the clumping of blood cells
Allergic Reaction is the histamine
Nucleolus has no membrane
Electrons are the oxidation - reduction
Jellyfish and Hydra
Fat produces the most energy
ATP is involved with myosin and actin
The carrot on the countertop has higher metabolism

which question asked about the nucleolus?

The question was

Which of these does not have a membrane?
nucleolus
nuclear envelope
endoplasmic reticulum
chloroplast
mitochondria

btw- what were the percentages for the sex linked genes for the Flies and the white eyes?

"This test was pretty easy, so I'm guessing the curve won't be too huge, although taking it now tends to offer more leeway than in june."

Are you implying a better curve?

I think it was something like 100% female and 100% male; I don't remember the question itself.

I thot that question was both 50/50 and 100/100 or the one that said I and III or something like that. it was the last choice. =T

Answer Firwar, i need to know too.

did you choose the one with 2 choices too?

I honestly don't remember what I chose.

"Are you implying a better curve"

Yea, cuz the competition is probably less prepared, except for all of us taking AP Bio on monday.
