Just took the SAT Biology...come hither!

So, the curve that was shown in the SAT/ACT forum is off? How much more generous could possibly be though?

but the majority is taking sat2 bio because we are taking bio ap this monday...

Can you give us the link to where you got that score conversion from? I couldn't find it on collegeboard but everyone says it's at the website.

I think IvyLeague's score conversion is correct. -5 gets a borderline 800. Still, they curve it based on the scores of the actual test-takers, so if fewer ppl do well, we get a larger curve.

hopefully we all get 800s.

i agree with every single question.

i put starch because I thought I read immediate energy, too... oh well, I am waking up on the 23rd and hoping for an 800.

i liked this test much more than the US history sat.

on bio, I omitted two and probably missed two.

WHY did they have so many genetics problems :( That was my only weak spot and they hit it in hard. :(

4 skipped... i'm borderline already... NO MISTAKES... EVER!! oh wait... that plant one... if it's mitosis then i suck green eggs, if it's differentiation then i'm fine

haha, amnesia--I studied like crazy for my AP bio test, and hope I get over 700. On the otherhand, I didn't look at anything for history, and I think I scored an 800 on the history. Argh the "genetic emphasis."

why wouldn't it be mitosis?

i loved the History SAT and like IVY... I didn't even study. Granted all I did to study for bio was rush through a barron's sat practice test in 15 min (I got a 740). I am right now cramming for bio :(.

No, the answer was definately mitosis; it took place during embryological development--from the zygote to the morula/blastula phase, and during that time, mitotic divisions take place.

grrr.. i want this thread to die lol... it sucks having to check it :p

ivyleagueorbust... i was just going off the picture, it looked to me that after that point, the "specialized" cells developed in to the leaf portion and the stem portion, that's how i got differentiation...

I know, I looked twice at it and thought so too--but nevertheless...

I'm just mad because I made the dumbest mistakes on the SAT II yesterday. Forgive me for being arrogant, but I think the Biology AP test should be relatively easy. I've been getting 5's on all the practice tests. I don't know, maybe I overlooked certain questions and thought too much into them. On the molecular section there was a question about a typical female and whether she was an XX, XY, or XO. Obviously, it wasn't XY, but I saw XO and went, "Oh, well females can still be XO, but they just won't be fertile and can still live despite physical ailments."

guys, u realize they put some experimental questions in the sections too? because if i a question is too ambiguous it won't be scored, lets just hope everyone overanalyzed certain questions as much as we did

There's experimental questions in SAT II's--what like one? That would suck though if you got the question right though.

What is an XO. I put only X for the female, because I had no idea about an O. As far as I'm concerned O is in blood, by for determining sex there is only X and Y...?

No, XO isn't just in the context of blood: It's a female--but she's infertle, and suffers physical ailments, and often various disorders.

XX and XO are fine
XO genotype is the most common karyotype among miscarriages

O denotes that there is nothing there... instead of X.

i didnt know sat IIs had experimential questions.

i feel bad. i wish that i just forget about testing...

everyone,

THE CONTENDER IS ON IN A FEW HOURS

NBC... channel 2.

Yes! Get to work on my Stalone impressions "Guh-eh-oohh-wah...mumble...etc" Yeah, so XX and XO are fine! WOOT!
