Just wanted to let everyone know

Hey everyone! I've posted on here a few times with questions about football recruiting and some of you might remember me. Just wanted to let everyone know that after a relatively short recruiting process, I've decided to commit to Cornell over offers from Fordham, Holy Cross, Colgate, Brown, and FIU. Wasn't really seriously considering cornell until I visited but on my trip I fell in love with the school. Anyway just wanted to check in and let everyone know about my decision. Thanks so much for your help with my previous questions.

That’s great - congrats!

Congrats!

Congrats!

Congrats! You’ll love Cornell and Upstate NY!!

studfest - Congrats! Oldest son just graduated from Cornell. My son fell in love with the school on his first visit there too. It is a beautiful place with so much to do. If your folks come to visit you, tell them there are hundreds of vineyards to explore and test in the area…and not one of them is bad. Good luck and go Big Red!

As a former Bison, I wish you the best nine out of ten weeks a year!

Congratulations!

Thanks everyone! You’re help in the past has been much appreciated. Go Big Red!

Go Big Red!!

Congratulations! On august 1st make sure you get on your application through the common app together with your Cornell supplement. Even as a recruit it has to be as good as you can make it, and you have 6 weeks. Get it in as soon as possible in September making sure the whole way that coaches are aware of your intentions and actions. On Oct. 1 or as soon as possible after, get that likely letter so you aren’t left hanging for any reason. It is the great plus applying to Ivy that you can request and receive this reverse commitment from them. Take advantage of it.

Talked to the coaches from cornell today and they told me that since they have to get a list of athletes who’s apps they are supporting to them, things are a little different with the timetable for applying and getting accepted. The did say though that they would be able to get me my likely in October and my acceptance before Christmas. Any comments on this?

Basically they said that they would tell me when to start my app and that they aren’t sure of the timetable yet. Don’t know what to think about this

Don’t over think it. Archer is pretty new, and they may be trying to get things set with the admissions office so all the likely letter guys go though at once. Doesn’t mean you can’t start the common app or the essays. Be better than working on it during the season.

Interesting. Seems like that could be a possibility. I know he is pretty thorough with everything and likes to make sure everything is in place before going through with something. Could be a possibility

Just an update- talked with coach archer today. He explained things pretty clearly.

Congrats! as an alumnus and father of a soon-to-be sophomore daughter in the ILR school, I hope that you will have a wonderful experience with all that Cornell has to offer.

Thanks! I’m actually going to be going into the ILR School.

That’s great. ILR has a wonderful curriculum and offers great career opportunities for students interested in business, law, human resources and related fields.
