<p>They keep the pens on a chain so it’s always there for people to use, not because they’re afraid of people stealing a 5 cent pen. It’s so they don’t get dropped, lost, accidentally taken, etc. That way they know a pen will always be available to the customer when they need to fill out their bank slip. They don’t have to wait to ask a teller for one become someone before them forgot the pen belonged to the bank and took it with them. It’s a convenience thing, not a fear of theft or a trust issue.

<p>theespys, hollowing out a book isn’t necessary. They actually sell stowaway storage books now, though off the top of my head I can’t remember where, but I would check out places like World Market. And I think the camera thing is a little extreme.</p>

<p>Really, I think you guys worry just way too much about everything. College isn’t as difficult as you all imagine it to be. Just breathe, relax a bit, it’ll be ok.</p>
