just wondering

i applied to kenyon and really hoping on getting in. i just got a "fin. aid" verification sheet in the mail from them. does this mean I am chosen already and they want to look at my fin. situation closer or does every1 get one of these? just wondering because there is a line in it that says "you won't be able to get fin. aid until you complete this form". im sure it could also mean nothing at all but i would like to think it means something good for me :) anybody else get 1?

I got one before I got my acceptance letter - I did EDII....at the time I didn't think anything of it actually. But now, in retrospect I don't think the financial aid department would waste their time verifying everything for a student who isn't getting accepted, ya know? I don't want to get your hopes up, but it seems like a good sign. :)

valuable:
Do you suspect that you are eligible for need based financial aid? Just trying to figure out who they send these letters to. Thanks.

hello,
i am an intl. student and have been accepted to Kenyon (ED II). I never got a fin aid verification package though i did apply for need based aid and got a very good package so the verification must be only fopr US citizens. good luck to valuable1212. hope to see u around this fall.

yes i definitely will qualify for need based aid - my efc is lower than 6,000 so if they do accept me and promise to meet "100% need" then I should get a substantial ammount

sorry for my ignorance but what does efc mean?

EFC=estimated family contribution (determined by filling out the FAFSA)

Valuable, My efc is low too and I got a very generous award...I think you'll be happy with your's.
