So I joined my freshman year Varsity Soccer (my school only has a varsity team for soccer in division 4)
However, honestly i realized that i like and am better at basketball, and i want to join basketball.
The problem is, for Varsity Basketball, only people that are recruited in their freshman year can join, and I'm in no state for that.
So basically, if i join basketball, i can only be on JV throughout my whole entire high school years.
My sports would look like:
Fall: JV or Varsity Volleyball
Winter: JV Basketball or Varsity Soccer
Spring: Varsity Softball

Do you think I should join JV basketball or Varsity soccer?

And I want to join one of the hard-to-get-in colleges.
Don't worry my GPA was 3.98 this year and hopefully it'll go up....

Do whichever you like better. Unless you’re going to be good enough to get recruited by a college there wont be a huge difference between the two.

Lagging is correct. Unless you’re an athletic recruit at a college, it will make absolutely no difference whether you’re on a JV team or a varsity team. Whether you’re on the JV team or varsity team is an indication of your athletic abilities, not your abilities to succeed as a student. Admissions isn’t trying to develop better intramural athletes.

Play basketball, if that’s what you like to play.
