**I am going to be submitting a portfolio for the National FOundation for the Advacement of Arts competition

With my art background, is it possible to get ito RISD/Cooper Union (fine arts)? One thing i should note: My school has a VERY VERY VERY weak fine arts program

Your CV sounds amazing, but hows your art work and portfolio?

i think theyre very solid. after all, it was BECAUSE of my artwork that i got the awards.

and also, i filmed a documentary in italy concerning te contrast artworks of florence and venice that im going to submit as well.

To be honest, no one here is going to be able to chance you if you don't post a portfolio. None of this stuff you posted matters, it might help, but the thing that is going to get you in is like 99% portfolio. But even if you posted your portfolio, it still would be completely up in the air whether you would get in or not.

Just apply and best of luck.

thanks.

then, you think liberal arts and other GOOD colleges will like it then? do i have a better shot in terms fo EC's than many other applicants?

portfolio included in as supplementary of course

^Oh for sure. With your grades, and with a good portfolio, you would have a great shot at even the really competitive LACs and large Universities. The awards should help you, regardless of whether they see your portfolio or not, but seeing it won't hurt.

thanks, your comment really helped

For Cooper, the home test is even more important than the portfolio. Given the number of applicants, the odds are long for anyone applying to Cooper Union.

Grades, coursework and awards play a larger role at RISD, but, as previously mentioned, put the effot into your portfolio.
