i'm thinking undeclared then...my chances are crappy enough as it is.

Little_duck:
The choice is yours, but remember the registration window for u/u is what determines what classes you can take. in addition to the fact that you arent able to sign up for certain classes like math because they are restricted to engineering and physical sciences only up till the adjustment period.

One question: Is it easy to switch majors from chem to biz econ or biz econ to chem? I'm still deciding on which one I want to major in, but for chem I heard you have to take a chem placement exam. Is it better for me to put chem as first choice and biz econ as an alternative so I don't have to go through any pains switching from social science to physical science (if there are any pains at all)?

you can come in as undeclared, &then during ORIENTATION CHANGE into a major. they will give you this option. HAS to be before school starts. easy as that. you won't have to take university studies 2. btw, if you really want to get into a class &it's full, you could do it. I went to the last spop and was able to get into a writing class. which is pretty hard. so there.

ALSO, even if you get a ****ty registration window, you sign up for classes DURING ORIENTATION, so the registration window is kind of useless. sign up for the earliest orientation. you'll be fine. (don't be like me)

is it really that easy to change majors during orientation? hmmm

You could probably switch to bio during orientation.

You CANNOT switch to engineering during orientation.

actually i know some people that did. i was almost going to but i decided not to.

anyways. i think i might fail a class this quarter. :S. say i retake the class, does the failed grade stay on the transcript or do they replace it with the new one? im premed btw. yeah i know not good.

If you try to switch to engineering during orientation theyll make you turn in transcripts/scores so they can review them so its a big hassle.

If you are in the honors program they'll let you get through without a hitch.

how is korean population there???is there alot???

There are a good amount of koreans. In fact, my roommate is korean. There are a lot of super-radical-korean-christians if that's what you're into. KCCC => crazy.

hey guys im back...hahaha

there are quite a few koreans on the campus, and my roommate is one of them. he is the best :)

are those koreans mostly international students or cal residents??

how is UCI's accounting minor and internship opportunities for business?

"are those koreans mostly international students or cal residents?"

the ones i've met are CA residents, haven't met any international one's.

I have a question...

Are you familiar with the term, "Irvine Cute"?

Is that anything like Triton eye?

iono according to college prow ler...

‘Irvine Cute,’ meaning that they are considered good looking because they go to UCI, but if they went to another school in the So Cal area, then they would be considered middle of the pack or maybe even lower.”

I really hope it's not as bad as ucsd ;) because my intuition is telling me I'm probably going to end up at Irvine. Someone say that the girls there are awesome please haha...

Two things I've noticed about student reviews of the UC's...

1) Those who attended UCSD have nothing positive to say about it.
2) Those who attended UCI and UCD have nothing negative to say about it.

While the academics are slightly "better" at UCSD, the quality of life there (according to student reviews) is just not as good as UCI.

Now onto the girls.
Yes...

I've done a bit of research into this. While I haven't been to UCSD, I've been to UCI. And let me tell you, the girls there in Irvine are pretty. And I mean REALLY pretty. Scratch that, a better adjective would be "smokin'". And this was during summer, when classes were supposedly out. XD

The only catch is that you have to be into Asians. Because, as you may or may not know, Asians are the majority at Irvine. But hey, if the Asian persuasion is your thing, the UCI is the place for you! XD

I asked an "Irvinite" whether or not this rumor is true, and he responded,

"To be honest, I've never heard the term before you told me. I looked it up out of curiosity and although I cannot confirm it for you, I can tell you that it may have some truth behind it. Of course, it doesn't apply to me, like most things in Irvine ;)"

So I guess this rumor is semi-confirmed then! Good news fo us guys. =D

I'm a student at UC Irvine, and I've never heard of that term before. It's probably another attempt to give people a way to classify UC Irvine's level for having good looking people like it has been done for UCB and UCSD. In all honesty, all this is pure bullcrap. Obviously, there are more asians at UCI so having an eye for asian people will help you decide wether there are "hot" people at Irvine or not. However, it's inaccurate to say the people at one school are "better" than the people at another school. Just know that once you get into college you'll enter a place with ten times more students than there are in high school. That just boosts up your chances of meeting new people and finding someone for you, haha. There is also the income of freshman and transfer students.
