Kaplan Book Essay Scoring

I have a 2005 Kaplan 12 Practice SAT book. Now it says I'm supposed to get the raw score of each section in Writing and then take my essay score and multiply it be 3.17. Does anyone know if this is how they really do it? Because I purposefully gave myself a 3/6 just to see my score and I ended up with a 690 with 17 wrong from the MC. It doesn't seem right...

Help? Thanks.

I had the exact same question. See if this helps:

Yeah, I know. I replied in that topic. That response that rlh0234 gave still didn't fully answer my question.

Anyone else? Thanks.

thats all wrong... kaplan is all fricked up trust me... im actually taking the class and the raw scores they use and the ones in there big books are soo different. just ignore it and just try to keep improving w/o using your scores.
