How do you factor in your essay score to your total writing score (practice test)?

I took a practice SAT test from Kaplan at a local high school today, and I was allowed to take home my question booklet..answers were put up online and I did a rough estimate of my scores using the guide in an SAT prep book I have (Barron).

My raw multiple choice writing score was 41/49 (675 in the prep book, not counting the essay). I think my essay was an 8, to be conservative but realistic. Maybe a 9. Anyways, how do I use this info to come up with my writing score? If anyone could calculate this for me, it would be great. Thanks!

There should be some table that shows your total score against your essay and MQ score ;)

I wish there was, my prep book doesn’t include that. :(

According to the Blue Book, a 41/49 is a 700 and with an 8 essay it’s a 690.

Actually, found it online, thanks…it gave me a higher score than the table in my Barron book did.
