What's a better SAT prep course - Kaplan or Princeton? My daughter has to pick one of these courses for a program she's doing. Any suggestions would be helpful!

I prefer...a lot ....Princeton Review. It is really good imo and thoroughly explains everything about the SATs, how to approach them, the subjects and some tips...

I took the Princeton Review, and my math improved 60 points, but that's it. My reading stayed the same, and my writing actually went down, even though I did all my homework and stuff.

And I missed a test day once because I was sick and couldn't get my money back.

Never tried Kaplan though.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Kaplan. The format is REALLY easy to use and the summaries are really good. I used them for US History and Bio and they really helped. In addition, their practice tests REALLY tell you where you are :)

Of course, there will be both sides, but I'd think the best way is to get your daughter one of them or even both? And she can pick the one that best fits her.

We have used both Kaplan and Princeton Review for SAT and ACT prep. I would definitely recommend P.R. over Kaplan. Kaplan was poorly managed (several times, there was no teacher present for the class, and no manager available to report it to). Calls to Kaplan's headquarters in NY and Chicago were ignored -- to me, that is a sign of a very poorly run company. Princeton Review really helped one kid in our family with her SAT scores. Kaplan, on the other hand, seemed a waste of time and money -- resulting in no change in scores.

I would also vote for Princeton Review. I am doing the online class and it is awesome. Cracking the SAT is a great book but you get even better books with the course.
