I just found out I will be in Keenan Hall this fall. Can anybody provide some kind of information not given on the website (room sizes, social life, camaraderie, traditions, dorm-specific policies) about Keenan?

Also, Im wondering what modular furniture is, because apparently I dont have it lol. And how is living in South Bend in a dorm without air conditioning? And which dorm is the "sister dorm" b/c as hard as I look, I cant find that out? Thanks people.

Ugh, c'mon man, I don't even know what my dorm's sister dorm is (maybe Pangborn, lol, I think it is but I am not sure). I defininately don't know all of them, and unfortunately they actually change pretty much every year. Annoying huh? I am sure you will hear plenty about them though, no worries.

Keenan is connected with Stanford hall and they use a common enterance. However, while they share an enterance, you must go thrugh the proper side of the doors, so stick to the left since Keenan is on the left.

Keenan has a yearly talent show called the Keenan Revue where they basically make fun of everyone, but especially SMC girls (and every year SMC girls write angry letters to the editor, though nothing ever changes). Overall though, the Revue is a very cool event (though no where near the REGATTA, my dorm's event)!

Modular furniture is handy because you can stack your bed on top of your bookcase/dresser (depends on the dorm) and desk to save space. Even without this though, you still can bunk the non-modular beds or I think you can build a loft if you like. Don't worry about not having modular furniture too much, though I do prefer it honestly.

My dorm doesn't have air conditioning and it isn't horrible as long as you have a box fan. Yes, it can be warm, but if that is blowing on you it shouldn't be too bad. Also, if you have a fan on at night and your windows open it is not horrible for sleeping. Overall, it is livable, no worries (and it is only really warm for a few weeks). Hope that helps

O'Neill and BP are together this year. I know doesn't make much sense but the whole selection process is really screwed up.

To be honest, brother-sister dorm status really doesn't mean that much, just a couple of events together each year. The dorms actually don't have to do anything together, it's just a formality. (I mean honestly who would want to be stuck having to travel all the way to Carroll anyway?) Most dorms will tend to have events with the dorms on their respective quad.

blammm, are you in O'Neill? I used to live there, as you probably know if you live there or you have been on the boards a while, lol. Just wondering if I know you off the boards.
