Good news for people considering Kelley with an interest in pursing Investment Banking. It appears that the class size has expanded significantly this year. This years class is 79 students which is up from 66 in the previous year.
I have heard that there is a near 100% placement rate in IB if you can get into the workshop. I can only assume that the people at Kelley feel that they can expand the workshop while maintaining that kind of placement rate.
Yes, the IBW program quickly expanded from about 30+ to 60+ to almost 80 in three years. It reflects Professor Haeberle’s confidence in the placement of his workshop members. It enhances Kelley’s ranking and attracts quite a few top students. It is pretty competitive and requires a lot of networking. The internship interview takes place in a couple of weeks. Most workshop members have 2-3 onsite interviews and probably 1-2 offers before winter break in junior year. But, the pressure on the members is quite high.
The good news is that the IBW interview process is fair and thorough so that a solid candidate has a great chance of getting in. Even if someone has the trouble in the workshop interview, go to Professor Haeberle directly. As long as he/she is really good, he may take a few extra members.
