So I'm considering going to Northwestern as a music major in the fall and I dont want to do the dual degree program at NU because 5 years is too much.

Would having a degree in performance guitar + the kellogg cert program be enough to be competitive in applying for a job at a BB (IB or S+T)?

Or would I have to double major in Music + Econ? Or can I do music+kellogg +minor in econ?

OR is just a music degree enough? I've heard of kids with humanities degrees going into IBanking, but is this the exception or the rule. If this is the case I would just do music+courses in everything not enough to get a major or minor.

to get into kellogg cert, you need to complete the 7 pre-req courses. for the math ones, they prefer either MENU or Honors Calculus sequence. it's something to think about before you count on getting into kellogg cert.

I think some of the pre req's have pre req's so it'll actually be like nine. But yeah, assuming I do get into the kellogg cert program, what do you guys think?

You CAN'T go into ibanking with a BM.
...That's common sense.

I'm in the 5-year program. It's actually not that bad.

maintain a good gpa, have a good course work in business related courses, and have some field experience then you are set.

I doubt you would be set with a music degree undergrad. Really, if you do the kellogg cert, you already need like 4 or 5 pre-requisite courses just to take the pre-requisite courses for the cert. If you are going to take all those classes, you might as well go with an econ or math major.
